Setareh is from Iran and holds a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering with a focus on soil from the University of Tehran. During her studies, she developed a strong interest in how machine learning, climate change, and soil health connect. Her research looks at using machine learning to study how climate change affects soil and water resources, as well as how to improve precision agriculture. By using these modern tools, she hopes to help make farming more sustainable. In her PhD project, she is working with lysimeters to study the effects of different crop management practices on evapotranspiration, yield, and water use efficiency. She also integrates drone image analysis with lysimeter data to establish a comprehensive link between visual imagery and ground-based measurements.
