My current project in the Wagner-Riddle lab focuses on scaling up large datasets on soil processes and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions using DNDC model outputs. Working with a multi-disciplinary team, one of the aims of this research is to investigate potential modeling approaches for improving alignment of synthetic fertilizer rates between the modeling and reported in the National Inventory Report allocation. Also, my previous research looked at how conventional and diverse crop rotations with cover crops affect net exchange of CO2 in agricultural fields as well as modeling CO2 fluxes. By using biogeochemical models, overall, my aim is to understand mechanisms involved in GHG emissions from agroecosystems and scale up potential GHG emission mitigation practices.
