Erin Daly

Erin grew up on a grain farm outside of Edmonton in Ardrossan, Alberta. She received a BSc with Specialization in Environmental Science from the University of Alberta in 2013 and liked it so much, she decided to do it all over again and obtained a BSc in Land Reclamation from the University of Alberta in 2016. After obtaining her undergrad degrees, she worked as an Environmental Scientist for the oil and gas industry before returning to the University of Alberta to complete her PhD in the Sustainable Land Ecosystems Lab under the supervision of Dr. Guillermo Hernandez-Ramirez in 2023. Her research interests include agroecosystem soil health, nutrient cycling, and the mechanistic understanding of the production and release of N2O from soil. When she’s not working, Erin can be found doing anything active outside: skiing, running, hiking, biking, golfing, or hitting up the pickleball courts. She is also a proud pet parent to two rescue cats: Mabel and Tommy Salami.
