I was born and grew up in Brazil where I completed my first two degrees in agronomic engineering at the ESALQ, University of São Paulo. When working at a research institute as an agrometeorologist I had the opportunity to visit the University of Guelph campus. My short visit inspired me to pursue my PhD in the Department of Land Resource Science (now School of Environmental Sciences, SES), where I have stayed ever since. I have been a faculty member since 1994 and I really enjoy all aspects of my work: teaching, research and contributing to my scientific community.
