My current research focuses on nitrogen carbon and water biogeochemical cycles in agroecosystems, specifically how different agricultural management or land use affect nitrogen and carbon speciation in soil, plant and atmosphere. My major interest is in using the eddy covariance tower and flux gradient technique to quantify net ecosystem carbon balance, evapotranspiration and nitrous oxide emissions. I intend to answer how different future climatic scenarios  (i.e., climate, intense freeze and thaw, drought, etc.) or management activities (i.e., cover crop, crop rotation, nitrogen inhibitors) affect nitrogen, carbon and water balance and what are the possible yield responses.
